The Boulevard Raspail Market is my favorite market in Paris. The market is located in the 6th arrondissement on Boulevard Raspail between Rue de Cherche-Midi and Rue de Rennes. On Mondays and Fridays, it’s a traditional market, and on Sundays, it’s a Bio (organic) market. At either market, you will find a huge selection of foods.

My favorite is the Organic (“Bio”) Market on Sundays. There’s a vendor who serves potato pancakes (galettes) right at the top of the marktet at the Rue de Cherche-Midi entrance for 2,30 euros. There’s lots of organic produce, cheese and milk. One of my other favorite stops at the market is the fresh-squeezed orange juice guy, who is also my jam and preserves guy. You can sample the preserves while he squeezes a glass or bottle of juice for you. There’s plenty of fresh fish and meats, but if you don’t want to cook, you can buy prepared foods ready to eat, like lasagna, paella, or roasted chicken and potatoes.
Here’s a video (in French) that will give you the vibe of Le Marché Bio Raspail:
The Boulevard Raspail Market is nice because it’s not too crowded and it’s a manageable size. (I find the Richard Lenoir Market at Bastille to be too large and too crowded.) At Raspail, I can saunter through, taste, and get exactly what I need in 30 minutes or so. When you’re living in Paris, be sure to shop at the Boulevard Raspail Market on Mondays, Fridays, and especially Sundays.
